October's Newsletter
This is a summation from the Twin Cities Chapter....................
TO ALL TC SCS MEMBERS,
Here's an update on our current research project. A successful confirmation of our results
in this test should put an end to any further opposition to our cure treatment and clear the
way to pursuing human trials.
In case you don't remember, the purpose of this project is to electrically track the signals
in the spinal cord to confirm that they are going through the repaired neurons and that this
is the cause of the refunction we are getting. It will prove that we have achieved the very
first actual repair of the truly chronic spinal cord injury.
Also, make your arrangements to make the teleconference set for Oct. 26. It should be
very interesting.

CONFIDENTIAL TO ALL CHAPTER HEADS
We have just received a report from the Lab regarding the current electrophysiological
experiment. They are seeing consistent and good results on the surface and are
encouraged by the progress. They are confirming the absence of harm or damage from
our procedures which strengthens our data for introduction into humans. This is extremely
important. All of these behavioral and electrophysiological findings give us a very strong
argument when we search for a clinical application in humans. The progress of the rats is
paralleling the previous experiment and is an excellent confirmation of our previous study.
This is preliminary, however it is work that must be done and confirmed prior to human
trials.
The lab personnel have been working 24/7 on this project at the Animal Care Facility. We
have had to add 1.5 additional persons to assist with care and surgery on the animals.
This experiment involves 50 animals and does put a strain on our research funds. Keep
this in mind when planning your events and do what you can to keep this going.
Remember, this is a complete, chronic study which should give us our best shot at
clinical trials.
Teleconference Reminder
The Teleconference is set for October 26 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. CDT as was stated in the
Chapter Letter of September 14th
